This course covers the experimental basis of quantum physics. It introduces wave mechanics, Schrödinger's equation in a single dimension, and Schrödinger's equation in three is the first course in the undergraduate Quantum Physics sequence, followed by Quantum Physics II and Quantum Physics III. Lecture Notes on Quantum Mechanics J Greensite. This note explains the following topics: The Classical State, Historical Origins of Quantum Mechanics, The Wave-like Behaviour of Electrons, Energy and Uncertainty, Quantum State, Operators and Observations, Rectangular Potentials, The Harmonic Oscillator, Spectrum of Angular Momentum, Aspects of Spin, Electron Spin, Approximation .

Although ideas from quantum physics play an important role in many parts of modern mathematics, there are few books about quantum mechanics aimed at mathematicians. This book introduces the main ideas of quantum mechanics in language familiar to mathematicians. Readers with little prior exposure to physics will enjoy the book's conversational tone as they delve into such topics . These lecture notes comprise a three-semester graduate course in quantum mechanics at the University of Illinois. There are a number of texts which present the basic topics very well; but since a fair quantity of the material discussed in my course was not available to the students in elementary quantum mechanics books, I was asked to prepare written notes.

Critical Acclaim for Lectures on Quantum Mechanics: "Dirac's lovely little book represents a set of lectures Dirac gave in at Yeshiva University, at a time when the great master could take advantage of hindsight. The Dover edition didn't appear until The clarity of Dirac's presentation is truly compelling (no mystery at all!).4/5(5).
